Current Library Hours and Services

The library building is open to the public

Monday-Friday 10 am – 6 pm
Saturday 10 am – 5 pm

Masks are required while in the building

Curbside services are still available and encouraged

Curbside services include:

  • Picking up library materials
  • Making copies
  • Faxing and Scanning
  • Printing

Public computer usage is available on a first come, first serve basis

Patrons may call Monday-Friday from 10am – 6pm and
Saturday from 10am-5pm to talk to a library staff member about library services

Craft To-Go Kits

We will continue our Craft To-Go Kits beginning on Friday, Feb.12! Each kit will have a craft and activities to go along with the theme for the week. Craft To-Go kits will be available with reservation and can be picked up from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday each week.

Kits are designed for Grades: 2—5

You will need to call and reserve your child’s kit; reservations will be taken Monday through Thursday of each week. Please call the library at 812-883-5600 to reserve your kit.

Kits must be picked up before the end of the day on Fridays. Supplies are limited. If you are unable to pick up your kit by the end of the day, please cancel your kit request as soon as possible.

Block Printed Tote Bag Kits

While the cool weather is keeping you inside, why not use that time to explore your creative side!

Indiana University’s Center for Rural Engagement have provided a wonderful Take & Make craft kit for adult patrons at the Salem Public Library.

The craft is for a Block Print Tote Bag that you get to design.
Those interested may pick up a kit at the adult desk Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Supplies are limited. Limited one kit per person.
